UWA/ABODA WINDS 2025
You asked and we listened! ABODA Winds is back this year and this time it’s bigger than ever! We have a brand new format that we hope will challenge and excite new and existing members alike.
Drumroll please…….this year we are combining with the UWA Wind Orchestra under the Batons of the wonderful Alan Lourens and the fabulous Claire Nankivell. This season of the combined UWA/ABODA WINDS is going to be epic!
Our exciting program has something for everyone; existing masterworks, and a WA premiere of ‘Last Flight Out’ from the pen of Cathy Lithuka.

- Catherine Likhuta Storm Chasers: Concerto for Timpani and Wind Band
- Frank Ticheli Blue Shades
- Catherine Likhuta The Last Flight Out

If you would like to join in the UWA/ABODA Winds concert band please register your interest, including your preferred instrument/part to secretary@abodawa.com.au by Friday 11th April 2025.
Due to the combined format of this concert, we are limited as to the number of players that can take part so early application is recommended (we need to make sure everyone will fit on stage). Balance of instrumentation will also be a factor in player selection. As there are only a few rehearsals, full attendance is expected and parts will need to be prepared ahead of time.
For those unable to join us in the ensemble, put Wednesday 21st May into your diaries and come along to watch the concert!
